Meridian Spring Dairy Show
June 25-27, 2026
4-H and FFA
1. Advance entry is required for dairy cattle. Entry forms are available on-line at www.dairydays.org. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, June 5th or delivered to the Canyon County Extension Office (501 Main St., Caldwell) by 5:00 pm on Monday, June 8th.
2. All female cattle four months of age or older must have a legible Brucellosis vaccination tattoo. Nonvaccinated females over twelve months of age must have a negative Brucellosis test within thirty days of entry into the show.
3. Dairy cattle may be brought in for display on Thursday, June 25, from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, or Friday, June 26, by 6:00 am. Stalls and bedding will be available. Stall space will be allocated on a first-come basis. Security will be provided. Animals can be removed after the completion of the show, but are welcome to stay for display till Saturday, June 27. All youth bringing their animals on Thursday will receive complimentary Speedway Tickets.
4. Schedule of Events: Friday, June 26 – Pancake Breakfast, 7:00 – 10:30 a.m. in Storey Park. Dairy Cattle & Dairy Goat exhibitors can eat at no cost, sponsored by the Treasure Valley Dairy Replacement Heifer Program and the Meridian Dairy Board.
Dairy Cattle Show, 9:00 am – Infield of the Meridian Speedway.
5. Note: The races at the Speedway have changed from Thursday to Saturday night and on Friday night a Demolition Derby is scheduled in the Speedway from 8:00-9:30 pm.

4-H and FFA Dairy Cattle will show Friday, June 26, beginning with Showmanship at 9:00 am.
Quality classes will immediately follow Showmanship. Animals must be in place by 8:00 am so the show can start promptly at 9:00 am. Quality classes will be placed in Gold, Silver and Bronze award groups according to the Danish System. The Meridian Dairy Show will pay $15.00 for each Gold ribbon award; $10.00 for each Silver ribbon awards; and 5.00 for each Bronze ribbon award. 4-H and FFA will show together in Quality classes.
Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons will be awarded for each breed. Plaques will be awarded by the Meridian Dairy Board to the top female in each recognized breed. In order for Champion awards to be chosen, there must be at least three (3) eligible entries.
Showmanship classes will be placed in Gold, Silver and Bronze award groups according to the Danish System. The Meridian Dairy Show will pay $15.00 for each Gold ribbon award; $10.00 for each Silver ribbon award; and $5.00 for each Bronze ribbon award. Junior Wranglers will receive participation awards only. Exhibitors cannot enter both in 4-H and FFA Showmanship classes.
The family of the late Glen Gray will provide the Glen Gray Memorial Trophy. Glen was a past Western Idaho Fair Dairy Superintendent for 26 years. This award recognizes (1) 4-H and (1) FFA dairy project members who exhibits special effort and initiative with his or her dairy project.
Supreme Champion Dairy Cow will receive a $100 Gift Certificate to D&B, sponsored by Gwendolyn Murray Clark.
DAIRY CATTLE CLASSES Show: Friday – June 26, 9:00 am
Each recognized breed will show separately in Quality.
1. FFA SHOWMANSHIP – All members competing.
2. 4-H NOVICE SHOWMANSHIP – Member 8 – 11 years of age as of January 1, 2026. In their first year of showmanship.
3. 4-H JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP – Member 8 – 11 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Not in their first year of showmanship.
4. 4-H INTERMEDIATE SHOWMANSHIP – Member 12 – 13 years of age as of January 1, 2026.
5. 4-H SENIOR SHOWMANSHIP – Member 14-18 years of age as of January 1, 2026.
6. 4-H SHOWMANSHIP CHAMPIONSHIP – Grand & Reserve – Ribbons Only.
7. HEIFER, JUNIOR CALF – born March 1, 2026, or later.
8. HEIFER, INTERMEDIATE CALF- calf born after November 30, 2025, and before March 1, 2026.
9. HEIFER, SENIOR CALF – born after August 31, 2025, and before December 1, 2025.
10. HEIFER, SUMMER YEARLING – born after May 31, 2025, and before September 1, 2025.
11. HEIFER, JUNIOR YEARLING – born after February 29, 2025, and before June 1, 2025.
12. HEIFER, WINTER YEARLING – born after November 30, 2024, before March 1, 2025.
13. HEIFER, SENIOR YEARLING – born after August 31, 2024, and before December 1, 2024. Not in milk (Senior yearlings that have freshened, show in class 16).
14. JUNIOR CHAMPION FEMALE – Winners from classes 7 – 13.
15. COWS, UNFRESHENED 2-YEAR-OLD – born after August 31, 2023, and before September 1, 2024.
16. COWS (2 and 3 years old) – born after August 31, 2022, and before September 1, 2024
17. COWS (over 3 years of age) – born before September 1, 2022.
18. SENIOR CHAMPION FEMALE – Winners from classes 15-17.
19. GRAND and RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE
20. BULL – under one (1) year of age.
21. SUPREME COW CHAMPION (awarded $100 D & B Gift Card and a Banner)
*Classes may be combined if so warranted.
